Hope and Inspiration for a Green Clergy Stole for Ordinary Time

Previously posted June 3, 2020 — The week prior to the pandemic outbreak in the United States I met my daughter in New York City. We explored museums, experienced live entertainment, and ate interesting meals. One of the highlights was our inaugural visit to the Botanical Gardens which was highlighting the orchid show. This was the perfect visual feast for a wintery week. At the time I had no idea how symbolic of hope those many, splendid flowers would be! This stole resulted from those thoughts. We’re extra pleased that we could use hand dyed silk from our friends in Haiti for the flower applique. Whenever we use this silk we give part of the purchase price to the development of the library at the mission that we support in LaCroix, Haiti.

Here are a few pictures from our time in New York City —
