Tending the Soul: How Ordinary Time Cultivates Spiritual Growth

In the church calendar, Ordinary Time often slips by quietly—without the fanfare of Advent or the drama of Holy Week. But in its quietness, this long, green stretch invites something sacred: a slower, steadier rhythm. It reminds us that spiritual life doesn’t always come with trumpet blasts or mountaintop moments. Sometimes, it looks like slow growth. Like deep roots. Like faithful tending.

Ordinary Time offers a season

for ministries and hearts to deepen rather than dazzle. It’s a time when pastors walk closely with their congregations, when seeds of hope are planted Sunday after Sunday, and when the Spirit often works in the small, unnoticed moments.

At Carrot Top Studio, we love

creating for this part of the liturgical year precisely because of its depth and breadth. Our Ordinary Time stoles reflect the beauty of growth—in shades of green, in patterns inspired by nature, and in symbols that honor the steady, sacred work of spiritual leadership.

From bees and honeycombs to anchors and branches, we choose motifs that whisper God’s presence in the everyday.

These designs don’t shout—they speak gently. And that’s intentional. Because ministry during Ordinary Time isn’t always dramatic. It’s often about listening more than speaking. Showing up consistently. Letting God do what God does best: transform over time.

As we design each stole,

we think about the slow unfolding of faith—how a single conversation can take root, how a sermon spoken in June might bear fruit by September. It’s a holy kind of patience. And we’re honored that our art gets to walk alongside it.

So whether you're deep in the rhythm of weekly preaching, leading summer mission trips, or simply showing up with grace in a season that feels more routine than revelatory, we see you. Your work matters. And it’s worth adorning.
