Communion Table Visual Connection to Worship

While visiting Wilmington, DE we had the opportunity to worship at Grace Church United Methodist. The sermon focused on the story of Zacchaeus from Luke 19:1-10. Of course we know of the sycamore tree that this tax collector climbed to get a view of Jesus. It was wonderful to see the visual connection of the sycamore branch on the Communion table. I’m guessing the visual learners (myself included) in the congregation went home more apt to recall the message of the day. I suspect this is just a small bit of how the arts are alive in this community.

For the past year we’ve appreciated the writing on the the Lumina Arts blog which is part os the Lumina Arts Incubator led by Dr. Merideth Hite Estevez at Grace Church. It is always full of thought provoking connections to our faith through the arts of all types.

We appreciate the Carrot Top Studio clients who briefly have to have their shipping on hold while we’re out and about like we were on this trip to Delaware. It helps us grow in what we do.
