#651 Ordinary Time - Roman's 8:28 stole - version 1

What sustains you? Some might say coffee, or exercise or their family. But we’d hope that many would say it’s their relationship with God. As we were making coffee one morning we were thinking about this. Thinking about the waste of throwing away the coffee filters well, one thing led to another and we created this stole. You can read more about the process on our blog post here. But the short and sweet story is the combination of early morning thinking and Roman’s 8:28 …”and we know that in all things God works fo the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” The coffee filters on this stole are symbolic of sustenance the way that cup o’ joe can seem first thing in the morning. But it’s also the shape of the circles that we were thinking of. The circle reminds us of God’s never ending love….what a gift!

The stole front is crafted from a combination of cotton fabrics and is embellished with appliquéd raw edge fabric, sheer fabric and machine embroidered coffee filters. The cross is also appliquéd and finished with machine embroidery. It is lined with a coordinating green fabric and is interfaced for added body.

This one stole is 50 1/2” long. It measures 4 7/8" wide at the hem and tapers to 2 3/4" at the neck.
