#622 Lent -Palm to Spear stole

143.00

This stole explores the story of Lent from the palms of Palm Sunday to the spear the solider used to pierce Jesus' side. Notice the similarity of the shape of the palm and the spear as a reinforcement that both components are connected in the story that leads to the joy of Easter. The triangular bits can be read as the shreds of joy from the Palm parade or the nails of the crucifixion. The border fabric is full of batiked palms ... a subtle nod to the story.

The stole front is crafted from 100% cotton fabrics. The symbols are appliquéd and finished with machine embroidery. The symbols have painted texture created with textile paint.  It is lined with the same solid purple fabric as on the front and is interfaced for added body.

This limited edition stole is available in several lengths. It measures 4 7/8" wide at the hem and tapers to 2 3/4" at the neck.
