During a recent visit to New Orleans, LA we were touched by a museum exhibit about Hurricane Katrina and the spirit of resistance of the people that lived through that. It made us think of all the times in history when the spirit of resilliance has been called upon. The people of NOLA have planted new seeds, seen growth, and rejoiced in working together with so many people from so many places enable to rebuild. The imagery on this stole reflects that. The cross is tipped with the fleur de lis. The fleur de lis is a common symbol in New Orleans and the three points are a reference to the Trinity. Read more about our inspiration in this blog post.
The stole front is crafted from a combination of cotton fabrics. The symbols are appliquéd and finished with machine embroidery. It is lined with a coordinating solid green fabric and is interfaced for added body.
